Visa-free travel between Kazakhstan and Vietnam goes into effect May 25

ASTANA. May 6 (Interfax) - The agreement on visa-free travel between Kazakhstan and Vietnam will go into effect on May 25, Kazakh Foreign Ministry spokesperson Aibek Smadiyarov said.

"The agreement between the governments Kazakhstan and Vietnam on the exemption from visa requirements for the holders of national passports, which was signed on August 21, 2023 in Hanoi, will go into effect on May 25," Smadiyarov said at a Monday briefing in Astana.

Citizens of Kazakhstan and Vietnam can stay in each other's countries for 30 calendar days from the date of entry into the country, and a total of 90 calendar days during each period of six months.

The visa-free agreement was signed during the official visit by Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev to Vietnam.
